Nuts, candy and magazine sales support Girl Scout programs and troops!
Participating in the Fall Product Sale is a fun and easy way to earn troop start-up money for the year. Last year nearly 1,400 troops participated. This year participation in the Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons product sale is expected to be even higher because of the new exciting theme. Girls who choose to participate in the product sales activities will explore and develop self-esteem by focusing on how their mind, emotions and body combine to make them unique individuals.

Girl Scouts will be taking pre-paid nut, candy and magazine orders during the fall 2008 and will deliver the nut and candy orders in early November. Girls will earn money for every item they sell. This money can be used for troop programs and activities. Girls will also earn individual recognition awards for reaching sales goals including a patch and prizes.

Girls must be registered for the 2008-2009 Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons membership year to participate in the sale. The sale is for Brownie to Senior Girl Scouts and a Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons Product Sales Permission Form must be completed for every girl. Participating in a Council sponsored product sale is a voluntary program of Girl Scouts that teaches responsibility, money management, goal-setting, marketing and communication skills.

Product Sale Details

Dakota Horizons Council used Ashdon Farms/QSP as the licensed Girl Scout vendor for the 2007 fall sale. The 2008 vendor will be identified by August 2008.

Products and Costs
The 2007 Fall product sale included magazine sales and Mint Meltaways in Girl Scout Beginnings Tins, Chocolate Covered Toffee Bits, Whole Cashews, Chocolate Covered Raisins, Double-Dipped Chocolate Peanuts, Gummi Berries, Peanut Brittle, Cranberry Nut mix, Deluxe Peanut Clusters, Butter Toasted Peanuts and Salsa Mix. The 2008 Product Sales list will be similar. As soon as the 2008 products list is finalized it will be listed on the website. Please check back often!
